First patient treated with new stem cell-derived therapy for Parkinson's disease

Yesterday, SVT Aktuellt news featured an innovative stem cell-based treatment for Parkinson's disease. Skåne University Hospital, in partnership with Lund University and with the support of Novo Nordisk, has treated the first Parkinson's patient with embryonic stem cell-derived nerve cells as part of a clinical trial. The treatment aims to replace lost dopamine nerve cells in Parkinson's patients that leads to problems in controlling movement.

This development marks a milestone in the field of cell therapy in Sweden and is exciting for Cline as well as patients who can benefit in a range of treatment areas.
